Research states that patients who have received early diagnosis of carcinoma-in-situ and early stage malignancy of specific organs are more likely to be cured if they have received treatment in earlier stage, for example, the survival rate of early-stage breast cancer is 90% higher if treatment is received in an early stage⁵.
Therefore, the plan provides an additional 20% of the sum assured² as a lump sum cash amount for 4 covered special illnesses, including carcinoma-in-situ, early-stage malignancy of specific organs, benign tumour (with surgical excision) and other illnesses (with intensive care unit stay) , so that you can receive timely treatment without financial worries.
The claim for special illnesses will not affect the amount payable under critical illness benefit¹ and that of the premium refund at policy maturity under designated conditions.
If you become unemployed after the policy has been issued for 1 year, you can apply for an extended grace period of up to 1 year to defer payment of the premium³. During the extended grace period, you can still enjoy the relevant critical illnesses protection.
